The Alpha Initiative
Overview
The Alpha Initiative is a collaborative growth program designed to help you identify growth opportunities earlier, outperform targets, and optimise long-term enterprise value, including funding and exit outcomes.
It delivers improved growth performance and competitive positioning in markets where customer expectations and competitive dynamics are evolving faster than traditional decision-making models can respond.
Alpha Initiative Metrics were developed from observing and measuring high growth in multi-sector enterprises from three decades of advisory work. These observed patterns have been formalised into proprietary predictive models. Growth rate predictions align with realised growth rates achieved by advisory clients with ~90% accuracy.
Using predictive modelling and benchmarking, the Alpha Initiative provides a forward-looking view of your competitive growth position.
The illustration below shows a typical company relative to sector performance, peer cohorts, and top-quartile benchmarks.
Alpha Initiative Metrics
Two Critical Predictions
1. Current Revenue Durability
Revenue durability measures the resilience of your existing revenue base over the next 12 months. The prediction is derived by linking current customer spending to customers’ confidence that your company will continue to solve their evolving business challenges.
2. Future Revenue Creation Capacity
Revenue creation capacity measures your company’s ability to generate new revenue over the next 24 months. The prediction is derived from your organisation’s collective ability to continuously:
Adapt to changing market conditions
Innovate relevant solutions
Execute with precision
These predictive signals are designed to improve your decision-making speed and accuracy, enabling you to outperform growth targets. Predictive accuracy will improve as algorithms are adjusted to reflect data from companies across multiple sectors.
Growth Predictor Index
Predictions 1 and 2 above which include customer expectations, unmet needs, and your organisation’s motivation and ability to monetise emerging opportunities, are combined into a single composite metric. Together, these factors provide a forward-looking measure of growth potential not visible from financial statements.
This composite metric is applied to your current revenue performance to forecast future revenue and expected growth rates, providing you with an early signal of future business performance.
Predicting Growth Thresholds
The Index is based on a stringent, standardized predictive scoring system that gives CEOs confidence in their company’s growth trajectory.
The score range of 1-10 means that threshold levels apply a high standard to predicting company’s growth path. Organisations can be classified using their Growth Predictor Index to identify their growth threshold:
Growth Tipping Point (6.5 out of 10)
Growth Accelerator (7.5)
Innovator (8)
Game-Changer (8.5)
Each threshold represents a measurable step-change in a company’s ability to consistently convert opportunities into revenue growth. Predicted growth rates are assigned to the Index and its corresponding growth threshold.
Thresholds provide an objective measure of where your organisation sits on its growth curve and what actions are required to reach the next stage. This provides you with an additional framework for value creation assessment and exit timing decisions.
Access Funding
We are working with investors and their portfolio companies to improve predictive data used in investment screening and portfolio growth tracking. Companies that achieve higher thresholds gain a stronger evidence base demonstrating future value creation potential to investors. This supports growth funding applications.
